Room and vehicle prices can be compared arithmetically, but they cover different services. First establish what each quote includes.

Use the total for your whole group

For a hotel rate per room, multiply by the number of rooms actually needed. Do not multiply again by passengers unless the rate is explicitly per person. A change in group size does not automatically change the room rate.

Use a vehicle quote covering the whole group and every vehicle needed. A six-passenger reference cannot be applied to a larger group without confirming a suitable vehicle or multiple-vehicle quote.

Include travel and collection costs

For a hotel or storage option, include service fees, city travel, returning for bags, airport transport and other charges. Collection may involve walking, metro or taxi travel; use zero only after confirming there is no extra expense.

Do not add airport transport again if the hotel quote already includes it. Do not add supplements again if they are already included in the vehicle quote.

Unknown costs are not zero. Keep unresolved items in your budget until the provider confirms them.

Understand the scope of reference prices

Different services use different billing units. Public prices may be per room, person, bag, locker or vehicle and may cover only specified periods. Check the actual product.

The Shanghai GL8 reference is USD 165 per vehicle for up to eight hours, with a nominal maximum of six passengers, including parking and tolls. It is not a confirmed quote for other cities, multiple vehicles or every luggage combination. Overtime or late service may cost more.

Ask each provider for a complete quote covering the group and all vehicles and rooms needed. Use an explicit exchange rate when converting currencies.

Compare time and service scope too

Hotel and storage options need return, collection and airport travel time. A driver arrangement also needs meeting, loading and airport travel time. Every option needs a traffic buffer, with check-in and security allowed for separately.

A four-hour room is not an eight-hour vehicle. Rooms, lockers and vehicles serve different purposes; record the hours you actually need.

Interpret cost differences correctly

For four people, a USD 180 room input and USD 165 vehicle input differ by USD 15, or USD 3.75 per person. If the vehicle input is USD 210, the same room input is USD 30 lower.

The room figure is an illustrative input, not a hotel market price. Consider cost separately from rest, mobility, accessibility needs and personal preference. The two-option comparison explains service conditions; it does not guarantee availability or punctuality.

Plan your day to compare services, or send your driver requirements to confirm actual costs.
